Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria

Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria is a notable Victorian-era manor made up of 39 rooms and is over 20,000 square feet. The castle was built in the 1890s as a family home for the affluent coal tycoon Robert Dunsmuir and his wife Joan. Robert passed away in April 1889, more than a year before construction on the castle concluded. His sons Alexander and James took over the task of finishing the castle after his death.
