British Columbia Travel Destinations

Similar to most destinations worth traveling to, there is a something for everyone in British Columbia. That being said, you will also want to spend at least some time beyond the borders of the main cities in BC, and if you enjoy an active and adventurous holiday, there is lots to explore. Ecotourism is an often brought up appeal in this part of Canada. Whether backpacking in the magnificent forests or Coastal Mountains, or kayaking through the numerous clusters of islands, getting off the beaten path is sure to lead to a memorable vacation in British Columbia.

BC is a large province. The easiest way to get to most of the province is by air. However, this can be quite costly. It can be more expensive to fly internally in British Columbia than it is to fly to Europe. Vancouver is the central hub for most air service within BC. Float planes can also be suitable for reaching many coastal destinations.

Getting around outside of major cities is not always easy. Many worthwhile destinations, outside of the cities, are not easy to get to by public transportation. This makes renting a car a popular option for traveling around. If you look around however, you will find other alternatives, mostly buses of some sort or another.
